Boutique AI is a computational art boutique managed by artificial intelligence who automatically creates artworks stored and protected on the blockchain as non-fungible tokens. The digital artworks are the product of combining human desires with state-of-the-art technologies. The Da Vinci Essence collection is the very first collection created by Boutique AI. Why Essence? AI breaks down the defining visual and thematic features of an artwork and is able to extract the essence of a painting. This collection consists of three framed NFTs created from high resolution pictures of iconic Da Vinci’s masterpieces: Gioconda, Salvador Mundi and The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne.

How does artificial intelligence interpret a masterpiece like the Gioconda? Our algorithm studied high-resolution digital reproductions of the Gioconda — to learn the artist’s aesthetic fingerprint. Inspired by the style of Da Vinci’s Gioconda, Mona Lisa essence is the first creation of this collection.
“The Master” is hidden underneath his masterpiece and the result is very enigmatic: Leonardo’s silhouette takes shape in the middle of the image, pretentiously becoming the first tangible proof in favour of the theories stating that Mona Lisa is a self-portrait of Da Vinci. Could it be that Da Vinci used steganography in some of his paintings? Indeed, Leonardo was a renaissance artist and steganography was invented in the ancient Greece.

This creation is the result of our algorithm learning Salvador Mundi’s style and extracting its unique color and geometric patterns on canvas.
Is Salvador Mundi fully attributable to Da Vinci? The way AI sees and transfer Salvador Mundi’s style could be the answer. Indeed, the algorithm has designed on a empty canvas a rampant horse which could recall one of the horses sketched by Leonardo.
During his time spent with the duke Ludovico il Moro in Milan, Leonardo was commissioned to design the largest equestrian statue in the world dedicated to the duke’s father. Leonardo did a lot of preparation for this work and that is the reason why there are many drawings of horses left by Da Vinci.

This creation is the result of our algorithm learning Virgin with Child and Saint Anne’s style and extracting its unique color and geometric patterns on canvas.
The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne is an oil painting by Leonardo da Vinci, depicting Saint Anne, her daughter the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus. Christ is shown grappling with a sacrificial lamb symbolizing his Passion as the Virgin tries to restrain him.
The colours of the image as well as the shape are in complete harmony. The extracted image reminds the shape of a masculine face especially the one of Leonardo Da Vinci Vitruvian Man.
This collection uses AI to distill thousands of famous paintings to generate unique digital artworks.
The core AI engine has been inspired by state-of-the-art pattern recognition technologies that have disrupted the industry since their first appearance in 2015, with the famous research paper: “A neural Algorithm of Artistic Style”.

“Inescapable” is the digital artwork made by Boutique AI in December 2021. This unique piece is the result of distilling 1591 famous paintings of abstract art randomly disposed in a digital grid. The result of the distilling process is located in the middle of the grid. The distilling process which extracts the essence of thousands of paintings comes from Boutique AI proprietary computer vision algorithm. Inescapable is the essence of the abstract art movement and as a consequence it is the abstract art by manifestation.
Picasso’s cube is the first 3D artwork generated by Boutique AI 2D to 3D engine.
